BMA Scavenger Hunt Rally 2024 - Sunday, July 14, 2024

  • Congratulations to our winners of the First Annual BMA Scavenger Hunt: Dan and Sherry Veri.

What is a motorcycle scavenger hunt?

This is not a traditional group ride. It is an excuse to get out on our motorcycles by collecting a list of items with our cameras and scoring points for each one based on the difficulty and rarity of the item found.

This can be done as a solo ride but some would prefer to travel with friends so you have the option of working alone or within a small group up to three motorcycles riding together.

When is it happening?

The hunt will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2023.

Pre-register by email to bmavpres@gmail.com by Monday, July 8, 2024, to receive the Scavenger Hunt List on Tuesday July 9, 2024, by email.

This will give you time to plan your unique route based on the twenty (20) items you plan to collect. Pre-registration will remain open until Saturday July 13, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Pre-register early to get your list sooner and have more time to plan your rally strategy.

The scavenger hunt list will be broken down into four main categories and one bonus category. You will have the option to collect as many or as few of the items in each category as you desire between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm on Sunday. For example, in 2023 one category was National Parks: Our winner planned a ride route that took him out to three National Parks in Ontario. He was the only contestant to travel to these sites. Riding from location to location, he took photos to prove he was at each site. He earned bonus points for finding items that no one else got.

You will also get extra points based on the total kilometers you travel for the day.

Can I get more items by starting to collect them as soon as I get the list?

To make sure you collected the items during the event time (between 9:00 am – 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 14th) you will be given a token item that must appear in each of your photos. One token and a score sheet will be given to each team on Sunday morning at registration.

At the end of the day before 6:00 pm, you must check in at the finish location with your team’s collected photos and completed score sheet. Scores will be tallied, and winners awarded at the finish location over dinner.

Cost?

There is no cost to participate in the rally. Participants will be expected to buy their own dinner and drinks at the finish location.

You may invite friends and family to participate in this event, but each team must have at least one registered BMA member or probationary member that has paid their initiation fees.

Can I travel by car instead of motorcycle?

We want to be inclusive for all BMA members. Some people may no be able to travel by motorcycle at this time, or you may be concerned about weather conditions on the day of the event. Therefore, you can choose to use either your car or motorcycle. Whichever vehicle you will be using for the event, you will have to report to the Walmart Parking Lot @ Mississauga Rd – Williams Parkway between 8:30 am – 10:00 am on Sunday morning. We will be recording the starting and ending odometer readings for all participating vehicles.
