BMA Poker Run/Observation Run 2026 - Sunday, July 19, 2026
What is a motorcycle Poker/Observation Run?
A Poker run is a poker game on wheels. It is a planned ride that includes several stops along the way to pick up a playing card. Stops can be manned checkpoints, or part of a continuous ride (rolling) with stops to distribute playing cards.
The goal is to end up with a winning poker hand (i.e. three of a kind, a flush, etc).
Rides usually end at a location where refreshments are served and winning hands can be determined.
An Observation Run is a planned ride where you are asked questions about what you see along the route. Since this is performed en route, there is an advantage to having a passenger who focuses on the observations.
The route typically shows mileage markers. Questions are specified between these markers, making it easier to keep track of the list of questions along the route.
Observation Runs also end at a location where refreshments are served and correct answers are determined.
A Poker/Observation Run combines the two in a single event.
